Every season I get requests for a “casual” capsule wardrobe and honestly, I find doing casual capsules so hard because I hate being limited to just a few items to pick from! Instead, I thought about what I wear on repeat that is CRUCIAL to have in your wardrobe that can be mixed and matched to go the whole season.
Also these are the items that I feel like if you want to splurge do it on these because they also make a great weekend getaway packing list!

T-Shirt, Denim Shorts & Tote

This T-shirt is the Good American Cotton Crewneck (wearing large), while I think it’s one of the best tees around because it’s thicker, not sheer good length, and not clingy to the mid-section it’s a little pricey for a tee. For an affordable alternative go with the Old Navy Vintage tee. It’s similar in shape and style for MUCH less or go for the CRZ more athletic feeling and cropped style with athletic pants and shorts.

These KUT from the Kloth shorts quickly became my go-to of the season because they are mid-rise with some stretch but can be worn multiple days without getting saggy. They have a 4.5″ inseam and flare a bit at the thigh making them very comfortable. Now if you want an affordable option go with the Target Mid-Rise 9s short. Tank & Linen Pants

I’ve tried a few linen pants and a LOT of tanks this summer and have narrowed my favorites down to the Old Navy linen blend pants because they are mid-rise and have a bunch of colors while being affordable. My 2nd place is a more dressy style from Nordstrom with rivets and gold ties that feel a bit more elevated.
The tank is one of the few that I found that is thick enough to not be sheer in the white and not too long! The only drawback is that it will need a racerback or strapless bra.

If you have been around for a while, y’all have seen my love for a great summer midi and maxi dress! While I have a TON in my closet this button front has great length and can easily be dressed up or down. I’ve worn this shopping to recitals and date nights. While not everyone is a jumpsuit fan I feel like a classic black jumpsuit is the perfect staple. Similar to the maxi dress it can be dressed up or down making it perfect for travel. This version from Nordstrom feels more elevated than others I have but the Old Navy v-neck is just as comfy and also has a similar wide-leg style at a great price but sizes and colors are limited.

Obviously the #1 summer essential is a swimsuit that makes you feel beautiful, sexy, and comfortable! I love a one-piece with a little bit of front sass but full coverage behind. Over the past few years, I’ve fallen in love with this Bleu Rod Beattie style with the lace up front as well as the circle ring style with low v and cross back.
