10 WINTER OUTFITS & ESSENTIALS

It’s been a year since we moved to Colorado and I’ve learned a few things on getting Winter Ready! First is buy the gear BEFORE it snows!! Last year we moved to the Denver area and within a few days we had a HUGE snowstorm that made us homebound for a few days. I was so happy I had purchased all new gear for the kids so they could immediately go play!

In the past year I’ve also stocked up on gear for myself while figuring out what I love and don’t love about cold weather gear. First crucial item is having good boots! The furthest left boots are my newest and I love how warm they are while still being lightweight.

Left Boots | Middle Boots | Right Boots

The middle boots are great with leggings are times when I need a taller boot. The outside is a waterproof suede but the inside is a super soft fuzz!

The right boots are a perfect combo but I love that I can also unzip for a quick out. The only boots I wear non-stop in the winter but are not pictured are my Boggs. Last year mine were DESTROYED in the mud when our backyard was an unfitted mud pit so I’m still looking to replace those.

C. C Hats

I also stock up on hats, socks and gloves! I found these CC hats on Amazon that are fleece lined and they come in several styles including kid sizes.

Gloves (wear small)

Gloves (wear S/XS and still a bit big)

For years I’ve had these Columbia ski gloves and they are so good but at times my fingertips still get cold… in comes the NEW heated gloves I found. These are liners so good for under thicker gloves or times when you are not touching snow. They have small battery packs that can be recharged and the heat goes ALL the way to the fingertips!

OUTFITS

L: Snowsuit | Hat | Black Boots // R: Coat | Turtleneck | Snow Pants | Hat | Boots

Recently I found a few good pieces from Target that have some stretch! The only issue is that both the snowsuit and the pant are a little thin so great for a snow day playing but too chilly for a winter day of skiing.

Some of my favorite every day leggings are the salutation stash from Athleta and to find then now in a flare style they are perfect for those days when it’s in the 30s but I’ll still spend most of my day inside and don’t want to roast!

L: Hat | Coat | Layering Tee | Snow Pants | Sorel Short Boots // R: Ear Muffs | Similar Jacket | Overalls | Boots

Last year I found a great brand on Amazon that carries a more traditional thicker snow pant and overall. I love they they also come in lengths so I get a short so they are not dragging in the snow! The drawback though is they run small and no stretch so save yourself and size up.

Also for those cold days that I need to stay warm but I’m not falling into snow I found these AMAZING fleece lined leggings. You can see them in videos HERE & HERE. I love that they come in several styles AND girls sizing.

While I LOVE the jacket I found from Abercrombie this year I also have to mention my other 2 main jackets that have kept me warm in the cold temps!! The cream is the Amazon Orolay jacket that is so warm and great for snow. The other is this Lands End packable puffer that has a great long length but not too much bulk.

While I would not call myself a cold weather girl, I have learned over the past year that having the right gear is crucial to not hating the snow and cold!
