Fall Sports Mom

School has just begun and as my kids have gotten older the amount of sports and activities have picked up! While we lived in Colorado my son did fall lacrosse but has asked to get back into baseball so fall ball it is. My daughter is my dancer so that is pretty much a year round commitment with our busier season in the spring.

As I talk with other moms it seems like most of our afternoons and weekends are spent running from practices to a game and back again. So for all the sports mamas I put together a few of my favorite outfits AND some collections based on the sport. Now I know I’m going to get some of the what about my sport?! I’ve been adding to this collection but it is NOT all inclusive, no there are just too many sports out there so I tried to start with fall sports.

FOOTBALL

Going to college in Texas made me a huge football fan. I love the tailgates, rivalries, food and just yelling for the sake of the game. I grew up a 49ers fan and in recent years more of a Chiefs fan for my boy Pat Mahomes (Texas Tech Alumni). CHEER

I have quite a few friends and family with cheer daughters especially ones that have cheer and football so had to gather some fun outfits. It may not surprise anyone but I did cheer in high school and I’ll tell you it’s kinda weird having my daughter attend our biggest rival now but looks like I have to stock up on my red and black to support her school!

SOCCER

Many of my daughter’s friends are soccer players and it’s such a fun sport! It again is one of those sports that it can be 90 degrees or 40 degrees and those kiddos are out there playing their hearts out. My kids tried indoor soccer one season and they both decided wasn’t really for them but had to find some fun items for those mamas braving the weather week after week!

VOLLEYBALL

Last year my daughter also had a lot of friends play volleyball but at her middle school in Colorado it was a winter sport. This year since her school is combined with high school volleyball is in the fall. Now, I never played volleyball, something about having to jump high and balls flying at my head just wasn’t for me but I can appreciate a sport that is held inside!

BASEBALL

While I did say that I was trying to cover fall sports my son is playing fall ball so I’m rounding up the baseball gear! At our new home the little league that we joined has fields literally down our street. My husband played baseball growing up so it’s the sport that he tends to enjoy the most with our son.

SOFTBALL

Since I included baseball I felt like I needed to round up some softball selections as well. In middle school I played two years of softball but after taking a ball to the nose in 8th grade I hung up my cleats. Recently I was playing catch with my son and husband and almost took a grounder to the face again and realized why I never stuck to the sport lol!

WHAT I’M WEARING

Since the fall can be so hot I typically stick to athletic dresses in the colors of the team or moisture wicking athletic gear. My favorite is the Spanx athletic dresses and to be honest I have like 10 because I wear them so much! For football we don’t go to many games in person so I also love to throw in a fun sweatshirt I can wear while watching and snacking on my couch.
