As we have settled into our home in Denver, my holiday decor has changed just a bit from last year. While I kept a lot of the new items, I’ve really leaned into the browns and neutrals that are trending right now. They fit our home so well and give that rustic Colorado vibe with touches of glimmer and glam.
Seeing that we have already had our first big snowstorm, I’m so happy I decorated early. I love seeing the snow-tipped trees from our windows and the twinkle of our new tree!

For the last several years we had a flocked tree from Amazon see it HERE, but many of the lights were going out and it was time to replace it. I had looked at the viral Home Depot TWINKLE tree and while I thought I found a store with it in stock it was gone. The best part is it made me find the tree we have now that I LOVE with the same twinkle functions, tons of light but it only does white lights (what I wanted anyway!)

I’ve had a neutral gold and silver tree for years but this year I added more chocolate browns, wood ornaments and mercury glass and tons of tree springs instead of ribbon to make it feel full and interesting.

While I miss my grand fireplace with no TV, I feel like I made this space feel like us without burning a faux fur stocking or blocking the TV. I mixed a natural touch of Norfolk pine with a full pine garland to give the garland a bit more fullness.
On the coffee table, I added some ornaments, fresh springs, and pine cones to a bowl. Then, I decided to grab some bells as my decor on top of a sock of books (I ended up replacing them all with holiday-themed books). Then, I replaced my black candlesticks with these brushed gold ones. The last step was to replace these faux candles with those from Amazon with a natural wick look and a remote!

Our entry table also has a small bit of decor, so it still feels like I’m walking into my home! In the move we had a couple of reindeer that were broken, so I went on the hunt to find replacements. I was SO shocked by the look and quality of these from Amazon.

This year, I decided to also go more neutral for our dining room. Last year, I did more traditional red and green, but I wanted to carry the theme of the tree into this space since it’s all open to each other in our house. I also added these cute wreaths from Target and some brown velvet ribbon. We hot-glued the ribbon bows on, but next year, I would just tie them on the chair!
The ornaments in the center were leftovers from the tree and greenery that didn’t fit in my vase on the kitchen counter, but using all the same materials makes the whole area feel cohesive.

BEDROOMS & UPSTAIRS
Our home has a few console tables, and this one is right outside my bedroom. I really wanted a very serene but festive look. I found this tree print and an ornament print, but also, family photos would look great. I just didn’t have time to print any yet this year! I also added a bunch of faux greenery and reindeer that we had from previous years. The small trees are new from Target. Since my son wanted a small tree in his room, we used one from last year there and got this new set for this space.

I continued the neutral holiday theme in our bedroom with this new screensaver I found for our frame TV! I love that I have the look of a picture with the functionality of a TV, and with a $4 Etsy theme, it makes the mood! Plus, these new little reindeer play off the wood tones of our bed and add that Nordic vibe.

This year, my daughter got into decorating with a new faux tree in her room. Last year, she had a real tree, but dropping so many needles on the carpet was a mess! I found this slim tree at Home Depot, and while I almost got her a twinkle version as well, this style had much fuller and more realistic limbs, so we opted for this tree.
We also have some cute bedding coming from Pottery Barn teen with pink and green to coordinate with her tree and decor!

BASEMENT
Heading into the basement we have our “kid” space filled with fun colors and all our collection of nutcrackers. As soon as we found this house I always envisioned a hot chocolate bar where the kids could get a yummy drink while watching a movie or coming straight in from the snow and THEY DO! This spot is the place to be in our neighborhood when it snows because Miss A fixes up hot chocolate with candy canes easily with the Keriug and mugs down here.
